‘Twenty-Twenty Vision’ is an exhibition that took place in December 2023 and constituted David Magán’s first solo exhibition at the Parra & Romero gallery in Madrid.

The show exhibited his recent works comprehended in three new series: Ethereal Paintings, Ethereal Traces, and Halo Series, consolidating the artist’s recent exploration of light and its materialisation with different mediums. In these series, David depicts light with pigment and painting, using diverse media such as photography, sculpture and even light itself, in a constant duality that characterises his artistic practice.

The expresion ‘twenty-twenty vision’ alludes to a person’s visual acuity, allowing Magán to place direct emphasis on the act of observation, on sharpening one’s gaze to perceive beyond what meets the eye. The ethereal and mutable nature of the artworks invites the viewer to actively engage as a spectator, prompting introspection into their own perception and the reality unfolding before them.
