Progression V

PROGRESSION V
International Glass Biennale (Strasbourg, France)
Jun 6 Nov 29, 2015

Progression V is a sculpture that questions the physical limits that a glass composition can reach using architectural techniques and concepts.

Modularity, balance, progression and chromatic layering are the fundamental concepts upon which this work is based. A series of cubes are repeated horizontally and diagonally. This creates a dynamic sculptural ensemble in which the viewer discovers multiple compositional and chromatic fusion possibilities as they move around the piece. The interaction between the viewer’s movements and the external lighting conditions creates a unique perceptual experience. Thanks to the translucent quality of the glass, we can experience colour changes through the superposition of several levels, creating a variety of shades, similar to a painter’s palette.

The sculpture interacts with the traditional architecture of the city. It is a juxtaposition of tradition and modernity.
